Alexa at St Mary's Basilica

Gothic Beauty

Alexa wanted her Senior photos to be somewhere like a cathedral. We don't have a lot of gothic architecture here in Phoenix so when she suggested St. Mary's Basilica, I thought that was a great idea. The scrollwork door caught our eye immediately. We loved that as a backdrop so we started there. Then we took photos around the basilica, showcasing the beauty of the building (and Alexa, of course). And finally we walked the grounds a little bit before adding her cap & gown. We started cap & gown photos on the far side of the property where there is a big gate that opens to the street in downtown Phoenix, and then we worked our way back to our favorite door.

When we booked this photo session, Alexa's mom told me she was a little shy, so I wanted to be mindful about that and not push too hard with poses and stuff. Um yeah...she was amazing in front of the camera. I loved Alexa's look, her outfit, the location she chose. She was so nice and I had such a great time working with her. I enjoyed this Senior session so, so much!
